November 2017

WildAx Motorhomes has been acquired by French manufacturer Rapido. WildAx's managing director has said that he felt Rapido's intentions for WildAx's were ‘very much like my own - to grow the company to make it a driving force in the UK motorhome market.'

Auto-Trail  is to launch My Auto-Trail, an online portal where customers can manage and monitor the status of their motorhomes. This will provide customers with information about their vehicle, with remote access and the opportunity to set alerts. The online portal will be available for all its new Tracker, Apache and Frontier 2018 models.

Australia's peer-to-peer caravan hire and RV-sharing community, Camplify, is to expand into the UK. It will list owners' motorhomes and campervans for hire on its site. Camplify's will advise owners on insurance, hire pricings and breakdown cover.

This year's Motorhome and Caravan Show 2017 (17 to 22 October 2017) welcomed the highest number of visitors since the show began - 101,583 - the motorhome halls were particularly busy. The next national show will take place at the NEC from 20-25 February 

Travelworld Motorhomes is relocating its business and developing a new bespoke motorhome dealership. It will be join Audi, Land Rover, Nissan & Arnold Clark on a prime motor retail development along the A34 dual carriageway near Telford. The new site will be 50% bigger than the current one.

The Camping and Caravanning Club's Technical Team has produced a three-step guide that highlights ways to get motorhomes ready for winter. The guidance shows how to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and well-protected against the worst of winter conditions, so the joys of winter camping can be explored to the full.

The Motorhome and Caravan Show takes place from 11-16 October, at the NEC in Birmingham.  What better way to explore than with a motorhome for the ultimate in convenient holiday making. The Camping and Caravanning Club has joined forces with Practical Motorhome magazine to support the annual Motorhome Owner Satisfaction survey. The survey seeks feedback from anyone who has bought and toured in a new or used motorhome since 1 January 2013. Club members and other motorhome enthusiasts are invited to complete the survey which closes on 16 October.  Results will be announced in January 2017.

This finance product has already proved popular in the car market, as it allows consumers more flexibility and potentially a better specification of vehicle. Swift Group is redeveloping its manufacturing facility at its Cottingham HQ. The £8m outlay follows on from other major investments in capital equipment over the past four years as Swift Group introduced its SMART construction systems in motorhomes and touring caravans, revolutionising their manufacture.

Marquis has teamed up with Mobilvetta to bring a new A Class motorhome range to British shores. Launching for the 2017 season at the upcoming Motorhome & Caravan Show, Marquis will be offering three Fiat-based models, the K-Yacht Tekno Line 79, 80 and 85. All models will come with a Fiat 150bhp Euro 6 automatic gearbox.
